Dolce & Gabbana sends its men on a Sicilian holiday

Dolce & Gabbana turned again to Sicily, its principal source of inspiration, for a summer 2027 men’s collection: a wardrobe of light fabrics and rich accessories.

The collection is called “Vacanze Siciliane”, Sicilian holidays. It was shown against a backdrop of the coast near the Sicilian town of Taormina, the colours shifting to convey different moments of the day, with tall columns built into the set.

The show opened with models in black, then moved quickly into a broad palette and closed with the full cast in total white.

Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana offered light suits with perforated floral embroidery, denim trousers and jackets decorated with bright jewel-like appliqués, and shirts printed with postcard motifs and lemons. Accessories played a central role: large bags in leather and other materials, and a wide variety of shoes.

“Sicily is the starting point: the source and the soul of the house, whose creative expression has always been shaped by the island’s light, culture, contrasts and craft,” the brand’s notes say.

The group, founded in 1985, is currently in talks with banks about restructuring its debt. In April Stefano Cantino was appointed co-chief executive alongside the incumbent, Alfonso Dolce, after designer and shareholder Stefano Gabbana stepped down as chairman earlier this year. The group stressed at the time that leaving the post would not affect his creative work.
