Armani closed Milan with a Mediterranean collection — and Silvana’s first cruise

Giorgio Armani closed Milan Fashion Week with a summer men’s collection inspired by the Mediterranean: earthy tones and light natural fabrics.
Models strolled through the arcaded courtyard of a historic building in the city centre, in airy pieces, softly cut trousers and safari jackets, often paired with large bags.
“There is enormous loyalty [to the late Giorgio Armani], but there is also movement forward,” Leo Dell’Orco, head of the menswear style office and chairman of the group, told reporters.
He said he had “lengthened and narrowed the silhouette” and used slightly longer jackets. The palette holds to a single register: white, sand and shades of grey.
Alongside the men’s line, the show presented a women’s cruise collection — the first created by Silvana Armani, Giorgio’s niece.
